*****My new house*****
My new house
I am now living here in my new abode situated in a
secluded paradise. It is still part of Los Banos but more calm and quite, apart
from the bustling inferno of the main street. The house is not humongous and
opulent but well enough to suite my taste of simplicity. Actually, it is like a
complete forbidden paradise with the long and rocky rough road one must
serenade into to for one to reach the house.
Interestingly the way is lined with unending amusement for the mind.
There were numerous shanty-like houses, stacking student dorms, posh apartelles,
numerous sari-sari stores, and a carpentry shop. I like seeing them even though
they are too mundane; because they hold too much truth about our Filipino
society. Men with barrel sized tummy, drinking tirelessly every now and then
while their families flocking on the other side of the streets. Numerous students
flocked in the karenderia, their plates ladled with miinute fry cries while
missing their homes; also other group of “scholars” conversing dynamically like
sofist and gurus about love and life over a case of booze. Carpenters in their
studios, busily hammering every inch of their life in the a block of wood for a
meager earning. Sometimes I even want to stop by and ask if they really are
carpenters…
The inner part of my new sanctuary is even better, with a
loft and small, now I can really separate cooking from sleeping. I can now be
decent enough to invite colleagues and friends with out harboring any
ill-feeling because of their frank comments about the space. I now have a ref,
electric stove, boob tube with cable, a spacious bathroom, and soon enough some
internet (halleluya!). I also have big tables and two sofas! Unbelievable for a
reasonable rent fee, don’t you think so?
And best of all, now I have a sister and a roommate all
rolled into one!
