This was taken is Mahayhay. I was informed that this is the oldest surviving church in Laguna. The whole acoustic of the church is excellent. And the dome above the altar has an illusion of an extended ceiling. And the panting there resembles that of a renaissance period. It still has its pulpit.
The 2nd last existing pulpit in Laguna. This was taken from Magdalena church. But the whole church is a little renovated. And this staircase leads to a rather ancient part of the church. I think it served as a convent for the parish priest. And I have observed that there are numerous tombstones on the walls. According to my mom, it is part of tradition in the olden times. All the tombstones have D.O.M. (Deo Optimo Maximo) etched on them instead of R.I.P. It means To God, best and highest. Here is a picture of the oldest tombstone found in the church. It is dated back to 1882 and written in Spanish. The others are already written in Tagalog.
